Basel 111 Norms

As per Basel 111 norms,banks are expected to hold 4.5% to 6% of Tier 1 Capital.It ensures an additional capital buffer for the banks.But,now many banks are already holding a Tier 1 capital ratio of more than 10%.

The guidelines are expected to be effective from Jan 2013 and the entire process will be over by March 2017.

Reverse Mortgage Loans

Banks are now providing reverse mortgage loans,which is a blessing to the aged people.This is a type of Mortgage Loan where in the bank will disburse the funds in frequent intervels based on the collateral security without the EMI burden.The aged people can use these funds for their personal use and the legal heirs of the property owners can repay the loan amount and get back the property from the bank.

The property collateral may be house or buildings.
